Hi! I’m Rachel Taylor, owner and founder of Kismet Pet.

“Kismet” means “fate” or “fortune.”

Our pets delight us and suit us so well, they seem to be these meant-to-be gifts brought into our lives.

Their curiosity and zest for living, understanding and boundless love, and the endless laughs and inspiration they provide—make them a total joy to be around.

I currently share my home, my food, and all my love with Takoda (www.petfinder.org) and Suki. Takoda is proud to be a certified therapy dog (www.deltasociety.org).  His little sister, Suki, adores him thoroughly.  They share an abundance of charm, joie de vivre, and a deep love for rotisserie chicken.

I’ve cared for many pets: cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, rabbits, and birds. I’ve also worked on a farm, a ranch, and a zoo with: horses, chimpanzees, lambs, and an elephant named Babu!

I am a former Special Education elementary school teacher, and am working towards opening a non-profit animal sanctuary to give rescued animals a safe haven. Think horses nibbling apples from the tree.

Kismet Pet is bonded, insured, and a member of Pet Sitters International. www.petsit.com

From the oyster to the eagle, from the swine to the tiger, all animals are to be found in men and each of them exists in some man, sometimes several at the time. Animals are nothing but the portrayal of our virtues and vices made manifest to our eyes, the visible reflections of our souls.

-Victor Hugo

We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.

-Immanuel Kant

You become responsible forever for what you have tamed.

-Antoine de Saint-Exupery
